Ladies, you’ve met her before but it’s time for a reintroduction.  Jay Morrow, founder and CEO of Jamorr Entertainment, Inc. (Jamorr) is doing things her way these days.  Since, Jay has broken from her alliance with Inhertwined Entertainment, Inc. (IE), she has been busy establishing her own brand of entertainment for the ladies in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.  Jay’s wants everyone to say Y.E.E.S. (Youth, Entertainment, Education, Sports) to what Jamorr has to offer.  As Jamorr’s motto states, Jay is all about making life happen. Jamorr Entertainment actively supports all the youth in our area by providing mentorship, age appropriate activities including a youth sports league, and seminars to help our youth maneuver their way through life. Jamorr also plans to partner with other established organizations in the area that cater to the needs of the youth in our community.

On the entertainment scene, Jay hosts five gatherings a month that you don’t want to miss!  Every Wednesday there is a Happy Hour get-together at Bravo Bravo, located in downtown DC on Connecticut Avenue.  Each Wednesday Happy Hour which has been deemed Barcode Wednesdays has its own distinctive theme.  The first Wednesday of the month is titled J-Link and features speed dating for all of you single women in the area looking to expand your social circle or meet the next great love of your life.  Second Wednesday is MySpace Get Together and third Wednesdays are SPIT Open Mic both provide a relaxing atmosphere for you to chill and mingle with the grown and sexy as you make your way through the work week and prepare for the weekend.   Fourth Wednesdays are titled Downtown Island and all are invited to come sample an array of musical flavors from the Caribbean Isles of Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, St. Lucia and the Latin Isles of Puerto Rico, Brazil and of course plenty of reggae.  And YES! Jay has brought back First Fridays, a long-time favorite for the ladies in the area.  The First Friday Melt Down party convenes at Republic Gardens located on U Street in DC.  The word is spreading about these gatherings and they are quickly growing into events that you don’t want to miss!

Educating the members of the GLBT community is a top priority for Jamorr as well.  Through the use of seminars, workshops and partnerships with local organizations, Jamorr hopes to enlighten our community on relevant issues that include domestic, health  racial and gender issues, just to name a few. Jay hopes to create awareness and bring about positive solutions as well as aid in creating a supportive environment for members of the GLBT community.

Jay’s love of sports is also incorporated into her new venture. In addition to the youth sports league mentioned above, Jay has plans to host multiple sports related tournaments and events throughout the year.  The tournaments will be open to all women of any skill level that want to join in on the fun.  There are also plans to become active in some manner with the Mid-Atlantic Women’s Flag Football Association (MAWFFA).  All of Jamorr’s sporting activities will be events that can be enjoyed by spectators and participants alike.

As if all of that isn’t enough, Jay is also looking forward to launching a video-blog titled Around My Block this year with Natasha Hamilton, also known as Sha.  These two have teamed up to bring you a forum for expressing your opinion on a variety of topics. The weekly blog is already functioning. These two plan to keep you abreast of all the happenings in the area and open up new avenues for socializing.
